Theragrace: Mental Health Support During Job Loss
Theragrace is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Alexandria, Virginia, founded by Brooke Buck, a licensed professional counselor dedicated to expanding access to mental health care. The organization was created in response to the growing number of individuals in the DMV region—Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia—who have lost their jobs and, as a result, their health insurance coverage.
Financial Support for Mental Health Care
Recognizing that unemployment often leads to the loss of employer-sponsored healthcare, Theragrace provides financial support to help individuals continue therapy during times of economic hardship. This ensures that people facing job loss or financial stress can maintain access to mental health services when they need them most.
Through its mission, Theragrace works to reduce barriers to care and support the emotional and psychological wellbeing of those navigating the challenges of unemployment and economic instability, helping them maintain resilience, stability, and hope during difficult life transitions.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to honor the healing relationship between client and therapist by sustaining care when financial obstacles arise for the client.
Vision Statement
Our vision statement is a future where access to mental health care is uninterrupted and equitable, allowing every individual the opportunity to sustain growth, connection, and emotional well-being regardless of circumstance.
