Maria Núñez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years serving adults with serious mental illness, including direct services to clients in both English and Spanish. For most of her career, Maria developed and managed Supported Employment and Psychosocial Rehabilitation programs to foster greater independence and enhance the quality of life for participants. Most recently, Maria was the founding Executive Director of Capital Clubhouse, bringing a global, evidence-based program to DC that helps adults with mental illness return successfully to the workforce and develop an integrated support network of friends and colleagues. Now retired, Maria is learning to play the piano, enjoys gardening and needlework, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her elderly mother.
